First Week
(Forgot to publish this!)
It was an incredible first week! It has gone by fast and at the same time it seems like a very long week. We were able to sleep on the plane coming over quite a bit which helped us when we arrived. We jumped in ready to start and were greeted at the office with a spread of fresh fruit, cheese, Jamon and bread with President Heckman. He shared with us His vision of splitting the Lleida stake and how we can help through the Young Adults. 80% of converts in the Spain Barcelona mission right now are young single adults. Each week there are 4 YSA institute nights going on. Two of them are close enough for us to attend each week. (Barcelona and Tarrassa). We live in Tarrassa. This week we have had the privilege of being trained by Elder and Sister Hammond. They do so much and having them take us around and show us how to go about to accomplish so many things in one week has been invaluable. We probably have 15 keys and key cards that we use in one week. To begin the week, shopping is done in a big warehouse, similar to a restaurant supply warehouse in the US. Wednesday a full dinner and desert is lovingly served to about 50 people in Tarrassa and Friday to about 120 people in Barcelona. The Young adults at these activities are absolutely amazing. They are faithful, kind, loving and welcoming. The Hammonds have been so well loved here, and greeted with lots of love. Generously the Young adults receive us similarly.
