Fall in December

It turned to “sweater weather”, which I love. Both for a little crisp in the air and to wear a cozy sweater. January and February are suppose to be the coldest months of the year here, so we will see what happens. Right now it feels great to go outside and go for my walks. I love walking all over the city here.

It is December and it seems like a late fall. The leaves have been turning yellow and falling steadily. Watching the city workers sweep the leaves by hand—followed by a sweeper truck—reminds me so much of my mom. When the leaves fall onto her driveway, she is out every morning sweeping her driveway, filling brown paper bags, and setting them on the curb. She returns the next day to tackle the newly fallen leaves! There are actually gardeners in her facility that come and blow the whole front yard, but she is a hard worker and always has been. If she can do it she will. What a tender mercy to have parents who know the value of hard work and taught that lesson to us kids.
